Who replaced Judas Iscariot?
Answer: Matthias.
Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve disciples, betrayed Jesus to the authorities in return for money, and led to the crucifixion of Christ. Judas eventually saw the error of his ways, but hanged himself from a tree in what is now known as the field of blood.
With now only 11 disciples (or apostles) remaining, they sought to replace Judas to make them 12 again after the ascension of Jesus. They shortlisted Barsabbas and Matthias and chose who would replace Judas Iscariot by drawing lots. This fell to Matthias and he was made one of the twelve apostles.
